Gesalt letters

The process of this project and the designs that were made were complicated to finish. I say this because I didn’t

really have an idea of what to do for all the principles I was supposed to make. It would have been easier if we

used shapes, but since we had to use letters and numbers it was a bit challenging. My creativity started decreasing

since this project started since I had no clue on what to do. The first artwork shows closure as I used  stars for this

piece, as it is different from regular stars since it was made with the letter “V” to shape it into a star. I used the

corners to make a star and made four more in different sizes so it can scatter around the canvas. For the second

artwork, it shows Similarity. I did this using the letter “L” repeatedly until I used a different letter as “J” .

I did this because I wanted it to be like a spot the difference type of thing, but also to try to perceive visual

elements. For the third artwork it shows proximity. I put different letters as elements so it could be placed close

together and perceived as a unified group as I put the letters together. As for the fourth one, it shows Figure-ground

because it shows a relationship between an object and the surrounding space. I used the uppercase “G” as the

outline and used its lowercase letter to fill it in. As for the last one, it shows continuity. I put the numbers going in

order go all the way down and bounce in the canvas to go the other way and keep going down. I tried making a

smooth path so it could travel down. All I learned is to not give up on the work, but also I learned new keyboard

shortcuts.
