Recreating Repetition







For this assignment on recreating repetition, I was confused and had some trouble on how to 


make a digital final like how I did with my finals on paper. I used the tools that I am familiar with


 and tried my best to recreate it and make it as accurate as possible. Although it doesn’t look the 


same, it still gives the same concept and idea of the original repetition assignment. For the first 


one, It was a bit easy, but the hardest part in this one was to make half of the shape in which I


 used the pen tool for that one. For the second one, this one was the one I had the most trouble 


and difficulty with since I had to overlap other layers with different shades of grey in order to give 


the look that it is going into a void. It kept having white areas when I used the pen tool which 


was annoying so I tried my best on making it even and making squares as I put them at the 


back. For the third one, it looked longer as I made the small shapes and scattered them 


everywhere like how I did it to the original. I made the background black in order to not make it 


look boring, but help it stand out. I did the same thing for the fourth one. But I did three red 


circles at the corners and ended with four in the middle. The fifth one was the easiest as I added 


rectangles and stacked them up like I did in the original. The last one was a bit tricky as I used 


the pen tool to fill in the triangles and circles. I couldn’t make the inside wavy so instead I made 


it sharp and zigzag to make it easier as I colored the half black and the other white to give it 


whitespace. Overall, I still think I could have done better.

3 Letters Final

   The three letters that I have chosen for this final was Garamond, Rockwell, and Baskerville. What I did was that I drew 2 lowercase letters as white, but I colored in the Q black so it wasn’t so bland. Making the sketches was a bit easy since I was able to imagine what I wanted to do for this project, but what was hard for me to do was to draw the curves when the letter had a small curve like the Q has. But the harder letter I had to do was the letter g since drawing it in lowercase looked harder to do. What I would have changed about this was add words at the background so it could look more interesting and not so bland.

When I was doing repetition of direction, I felt confident on this piece because I had a vision on this artwork where I was imagining a tunnel going all the way down as if the forms were getting smaller and smaller like if it was going down. I like the end results because I was able to complete what I was imagining when starting this and it was more detailed and more focused than the other finals I was doing for this assignment. What I think would have done a bit more differently was to add more detail to the corners to give it more depth and shade. I think my drawing skills have improved a little bit on this piece since due to the more advanced design and detail added into it. r

Point Line Plane by Emily Gomez

This drawing was the first drawing I made was, line. I liked this first drawing when I did it in the rough drafts because it looked like a rose to me in a weird way, so I decided to add it to the published one, and what I did here was just add lines and make it go smaller as I go further into the middle of the paper. but it was a challenge to me because it didn't look like how it was in the draft which was a disappointment for me, but it was too late to change it. I think I could have changed it by fixing the lines and the ends of it. But I think it looks weird and different because of the frame since it looks different on the rough draft. This drawing shows that I've used points on this frame. When I drew this on the rough drafts it was easy for me since I just drew 3 dots and resembled a point since it was basically just 3 points.
