Museum of Illustration
I think that the museum was interesting as it had many different illustrations that highlighted its
artwork through books. Advertising, animation, editorial media, fashion, and digital design.
David Curtis mentioned that he went through many different hardships and many different
sketches in order to complete a final on his project with the book covers he was creating. I really
liked the different concepts he had for the book “it” as I was fascinated by all the different ideas
he had with the cover. I liked the idea of the tutorial about how to make a paper boat
representing the start of the book and the main character's brother on how he got into the plot.
The drawing I really liked in the museum was a drawing that a middle schooler made of a
pigeon looking down at the city which amazed me as it looked really good in my opinion. At the
workshop, we had to make sketches for any book cover so I made one that comes from a
game, but is also from a book. I could have done more and added more detail, but yet again it
was just a sketch. In conclusion, the workshop with David Curtis was creative and somewhat
interesting in its activities and different drawing along with its paintings.
